Philip Napier

Philip Napier is Head of the School of Fine Art and a Professor at the National College of Art and Design (NCAD) in Dublin. An accomplished artist and educator, his practice examines power structures through site-specific engagements, often addressing themes of conflict, territory, and social memory.

Professor Napier's research investigates post-conflict environments, spatial politics, and systems of commemoration. His current work explores 19th-century maritime history through installations that connect historical narratives with contemporary global issues like sovereignty disputes and climate change.
