Dr. Philip Kreniske is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Community Health and Social Sciences at the CUNY Graduate School of Public Health & Health Policy. He is also an Adjunct Assistant Professor at Columbia University's Mailman School of Public Health. His research focuses on implementation science, adolescent health, digital technology, and health equity in the U.S. and sub-Saharan Africa, supported by two National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) grants. He earned his PhD and MA in Developmental Psychology from CUNY and an M.S. Ed. in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages from Lehman College.
Dr. Kreniske’s research interests include HIV prevention and treatment, mental health, social determinants of health, and the role of digital technologies in addressing health inequities. He has developed strategies to involve students in all phases of research, mentoring at CUNY and Columbia. His work spans epidemiological studies, mathematical modeling, and community-based interventions.
Key research areas include HIV incidence trends among adolescents in Uganda, PrEP implementation in marginalized groups, and mental health impacts of the pandemic. His publications highlight the intersection of technology, youth health, and global health equity. Dr. Kreniske teaches courses on digital technology and health at Columbia’s Mailman School.
