Philip Everall is a Lecturer (Classical Music) and Head of Woodwind at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA), Edith Cowan University. He teaches Principal Studies in Clarinet and Bass Clarinet, Woodwind Workshop, Chamber Music, and contributes to music history courses including Modernism and Postmodernism, Classical to Romantic transitions, and Contemporary Performance Practice.

His research focuses on Bass Clarinet extended techniques, Reed making and design of single reeds, and Chamber music of the late twentieth century. He co-created the performance series "Under Over Through" (2019) and explores contemporary interpretations of classical works.
Recent projects include "New Discipline: building a repertoire for bass clarinet and piano" funded by the ECU Early Career Researcher Grant ($20,080, 2019–2020). He supervises doctoral and Master’s students in topics spanning reed instrument innovation, conceptual text scores, and cross-cultural performance practices.
