Dr. Philip Effraim is an Assistant Professor of Anesthesiology at Yale University School of Medicine, affiliated with Yale New Haven Hospital. He holds dual MD and PhD degrees from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons (2011). After completing residency and a regional anesthesia fellowship at Yale, he joined the faculty in 2017. His research focuses on pain mechanisms and novel treatments, particularly investigating voltage-gated ion channels and their role in neuropathic pain. Collaborators include Mohammad-Reza Ghovanloo, Stephen Waxman, and Sulayman Dib-Hajj.
