Phil Haynes is a Research Fellow at the School of Arch, Tech and Eng and holds an Emeritus Professor title at the School of Humanities and Social Science, University of Brighton. His work spans interdisciplinary research in complexity theory, public policy analysis, social sciences, and economics. He has contributed extensively to studies on policy convergence, macroeconomic dynamics, and healthcare systems.
Research interests include the application of complex systems methodologies to public policy, social resilience, and economic analysis. His recent work explores topics like community treatment orders, carbon footprint policy interactions, and pandemic impact analysis. He has collaborated with institutions globally, including the Barcelona Graduate School of Economics and the University of Brighton's Inclusive Digital Societies group.
With over 48 publications and 9 supervised works, his research emphasizes policy evaluation, systems analysis tools (e.g., Dynamic Pattern Synthesis), and interdisciplinary approaches to societal challenges.
