Phil Birge-Liberman is an Associate Professor in the Department of Geography, Sustainability, Community, and Urban Studies at the University of Connecticut. His research focuses on urban-historical geography, examining topics such as the privatization of public space, the relationship between historic park restoration, gentrification, and urban sustainability, and social practices of urban park use. In his teaching, he collaborates with community organizations to address pressing urban and community issues.
