Petros Petridis is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Social Anthropology, School of Social Sciences, Panteion University. His research focuses on Digital Anthropology, Digital Ethnography, and the intersection of technology with socio-political phenomena. He teaches courses including Digital Anthropology, Anthropology and Digital Technologies in Education, and Anthropological Theory.
His work explores digital cultures, social media politics, video games as educational tools, and algorithmic societies. Recent publications investigate topics like post-truth media landscapes, far-right digital activism, and the role of gamification in surveillance cultures.
His articles analyze phenomena such as digital piracy as cultural practice, machinima as anthropological representation, and the temporal dimensions of digital environments. He critiques modern information ecosystems and their socio-political implications, emphasizing the ethical dimensions of digital transformation.
