Dr. Petros Lappas is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Engineering at RMIT University, Australia. He specializes in Thermodynamics, Fluid Mechanics, and Renewable Energy Systems, and coordinates the Master of Sustainable Energy Program. His research focuses on improving thermal efficiency in internal combustion engines, laser diagnostics (PIV, LDV, spectroscopy), aerosol dynamics, and renewable energy technologies.
Dr. Lappas holds a PhD and has received awards including the Westcoast Energy Inc. Jack Davis Scholarship (2000) and the University of British Columbia Graduate Scholarship (1998–2000). He has supervised numerous research projects on topics like nasal drug delivery, combustion noise, and desalination systems.
His recent articles emphasize droplet dynamics, combustion diagnostics, and thermal management systems. Key contributions include studies on ferrofluid cooling, CNG engine performance, and nasal spray atomization. Dr. Lappas collaborates on projects involving automotive engineering, renewable energy, and thermal energy recovery systems.
