Petra Geraats

Dr Petra Geraats is an Associate Professor in Economics at the University of Cambridge and a Fellow at St John's College. She holds a PhD from the University of California, Berkeley, and has been affiliated with Cambridge since 2000.

Research Interests:

• Macroeconomics
• Monetary Policy
• Central Bank Transparency
• Behavioral Economics

Selected Publications analyze trends in monetary policy transparency, central bank credibility, and macroeconomic stabilization. Her work spans theoretical and empirical studies of central bank communication and forecasting practices.

Teaching:

• Macroeconomics at the MPhil and Economics Tripos levels
• Supervision of Part I, Part IIA, and Part IIB Macroeconomics at St John's College
• Courses in Monetary Economics, International Macroeconomics, and Macroeconomic Policy

Professional Engagement: Participated in evaluations of central banks, including the Bernanke Review of the Bank of England. Delivered keynote speeches, including at the Dutch Central Bank Conference.
