Peter Wang is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Radiology at Harvard Medical School. His research focuses on theranostic molecular imaging in human diseases, particularly transplanted pancreatic islets and endogenous beta cells for type 1 diabetes treatment. He also explores image-guided stem cell therapies for diabetes, liver dysfunction, and cardiovascular diseases, alongside novel imaging methods to monitor transplanted cells in diabetes, liver diseases, and cancer.
Dr. Wang holds a bachelor’s degree in Clinical Medicine from Shanxi Medical University (China), followed by residency at the First Affiliated Hospital of Shanxi Medical University. He earned his PhD in Imaging and Nuclear Medicine from Fudan University (Shanghai, China). His postdoctoral research was conducted at the Molecular Imaging Laboratory, Athinoula A Martinos Center for Biomedical Imaging, Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School.
His research interests bridge molecular imaging with clinical applications, emphasizing translational therapies for metabolic and degenerative diseases. Collaborations likely involve interdisciplinary teams at Harvard Medical School and affiliated institutions.
