Peter Wallström is a Senior Lecturer and Head of Division in Business Administration at the School of Business, University of Skövde. He earned his PhD at Luleå University of Technology in 2016 with a thesis titled "On value and waste," which examined conceptual challenges of value and waste across different organizational contexts and the resulting value conflicts. His academic position combines administrative leadership with teaching and research responsibilities in business administration.
Wallström's research spans operations management, construction process optimization, and forecasting techniques. His work integrates theoretical frameworks from quality management, logistics, marketing, and strategic resource-based view. He has made significant contributions to understanding lean principles in practical contexts, particularly regarding value stream analysis and waste reduction methodologies. His expertise extends to construction management, where he has examined synchronization of building processes and productivity measurement systems.
His publication record shows a consistent research trajectory from 2000-2016, with increasing focus on value and waste concepts in lean contexts. The articles demonstrate expertise across construction management, operations research, and supply chain optimization, with practical applications in manufacturing and building industries. His work often bridges theoretical frameworks with real-world implementation challenges.
Wallström has participated in multiple research projects including Byggsynk (SBUF), CILECCTA (EU project), and "Flexible resource use for cost-effective production" (SBUF). He serves as course coordinator for undergraduate business administration courses at the bachelor's level, teaching subjects related to operations management and business processes.
