Peter Vlachos

Peter Vlachos is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Marketing, Events, and Tourism at the Faculty of Business, University of Greenwich. He specializes in the 'experience economy' and its impacts on urban development, focusing on how live arts, entertainment industries, and creative/leisure sectors influence place branding, labour mobility, and economic diversification.

His career spans roles in Canadian federal and provincial government ministries, cultural organizations in Canada and the UK, and academic positions at City University, London and University of Greenwich since 2007. He established the MA in Events Management at Greenwich and leads transnational educational partnerships for the department.

He serves as an assessor for the Arts Council of England, London, and is affiliated with the Chartered Institute of Marketing, Chartered Management Institute, and Royal Society of Arts. He was a key press spokesperson for the University during the London 2012 Olympic Games and reviews for journals like the International Journal of Tourism Cities.
