Peter Stark is a Professor of Conducting at the Royal College of Music in London and serves as Rehearsal Director for the European Union Youth Orchestra. He has conducted leading orchestras worldwide, including the London Symphony Orchestra and Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra. His career spans over 600 private students, and he is renowned for his conducting courses emphasizing silent conducting techniques, Alexander Technique, and leadership psychology. He has collaborated with BBC media on series like Maestro, mentoring celebrity conductors.
Education: Trained at the Royal College of Music (1973–77), Canford Summer School of Music (1976–78), and Vienna Meisterkurse (1980).
Research & Teaching: Specializes in orchestral training and silent conducting methodologies. His research focuses on conductor-orchestra dynamics and leadership psychology, with upcoming publications including a handbook on conducting and a book exploring orchestral collaboration.
