Gabrielle (Gaby) Lester is a Professor of Violin and Deputy Head of Strings at the Royal College of Music (RCM). Born in London, she studied at The Yehudi Menuhin School, Royal College of Music, and Mozarteum in Salzburg with Sandor Vegh. Her orchestral career includes leadership roles in prestigious ensembles such as the Chamber Orchestra of Europe, Scottish Chamber Orchestra, and Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. She has collaborated with the Barbican Piano Trio and The Michael Nyman Band, contributing to recordings for film soundtracks like Harry Potter and The Lord of the Rings.
