Peter Roger is a Professor in the Department of Linguistics at Macquarie University, with dual expertise in medicine and applied linguistics. He holds a MB BS (Hons) from the University of Sydney and a PhD in Communication Sciences and Disorders. His research focuses on health communication, linguistic diversity, and second language acquisition, emphasizing globalization's impact on language learning and identity. He teaches in the Master of Applied Linguistics and TESOL program and co-authored Communication and Professional Relationships in Healthcare Practice (2013).
