Peter Richter

Prof. Dr. Peter Richter is a Professor at the Department of Planning and Building Economics within the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT). His academic background includes a Dipl.-Ing. in Architecture (1974) and a Dipl.-Wirtschafts-Ing. in Industrial Engineering (1976), both from TU Munich, followed by a Dr.-Ing. from Universität Göttingen Kassel in 1988. He became a university professor at the University of Karlsruhe in 1994. His expertise lies in construction management, documentation systems in the building industry, and building management. Prior to academia, he worked extensively as a consulting engineer in project management for large construction projects, developing innovative methods and EDP (Electronic Data Processing) applications for industry and consulting. His work emphasizes the use of database systems for complex projects and objects.
