Professor Peter Raynor is a leading academic in criminology and probation studies at Swansea University's School of Social Sciences. He holds a Professorship in Criminology and has over four decades of experience in probation research, policy, and practice. His work focuses on rehabilitation, offender management, and evidence-based practices, with a particular emphasis on probation effectiveness, risk assessment, and desistance.
Raynor's research spans topics including victims of crime, drug/alcohol services, youth justice, and resettlement programs. He has conducted studies for the Home Office, European Union, and international bodies, including the Romanian Ministry of Justice.
