Dr. Peter Phillips is a Senior Lecturer in Paramedic Science at Bournemouth University, UK. He maintains clinical practice as an Emergency Care Practitioner in urgent care settings. His research focuses on psychological resilience in newly qualified paramedics, paramedic education reform, and clinical decision-making in emergency care. Phillips is currently completing a PhD exploring resilience in early-career paramedics using mixed-methods longitudinal research. He has held roles as an external examiner for St George's University London and actively contributes to professional development initiatives.
Education background includes a BSc (Hons) in Paramedic Science from University of Hertfordshire (2009), a BSc (Hons) in Emergency and Urgent Care Practice from Bournemouth University (2013), and a PGCE in Higher Education (2015). His recent work investigates paramedic management of mental health crises, antibiotic prescribing practices, and the impact of humor on clinician well-being. He has authored/co-authored over 15 peer-reviewed publications and presented at major conferences including the College of Paramedics Annual Conference and EMS999 Research Forum.
