Prof. Peter Paul van Benthem is a full Professor of Otorhinolaryngology at the Leiden University Medical Center (LUMC). He serves as Chair of the ENT Department and holds interim leadership roles in the Department of Ophthalmology and Division 3 of the LUMC. His expertise spans ENT research, healthcare strategy, and quality of care innovation. He has received multiple awards, including the Dutch Encouragement Prize for his PhD thesis (1993) and an honorary medal from the Dutch ENT Association (2014).
Prof. van Benthem’s professional milestones include chairing the Federation of Medical Specialists (2020–2023) and leading educational initiatives recognized by the University Medical Center Utrecht. His work emphasizes translational neuroscience and clinical excellence in ENT care.
