Peter Ormerod is an Associate Professor of Law at Villanova University School of Law. His research explores the intersection of information privacy law, law and technology, and the regulation of data-intensive businesses.

Research Focus

Ormerod’s scholarship centers on information privacy law, law and technology, and regulatory frameworks for digital economies. Current projects examine the political economy of data-intensive businesses and the regulation of commercial surveillance practices. His prior work has analyzed the interplay between privacy law and competition law, the duty of data security, technological impacts on Fourth Amendment doctrine, and enforcement mechanisms in privacy law.
