Peter M. DeMarzo is the Philip H. Knight Professor and Interim Dean of Stanford Graduate School of Business, holding the John G. McDonald Professorship in Finance. He serves as Senior Fellow at the Stanford Institute for Economic Policy Research.
Research examines corporate financial decision-making, market regulation, and institutional design. Key areas include bank capital requirements, debt dynamics, security design, compensation mechanisms, and peer effects in asset pricing. Contributions analyze leverage constraints, sovereign debt accumulation pathways, and collateral-based commitment in financial contracting.
Honors include presidency of the American Finance Association, fellowship in the Econometric Society, and multiple best paper awards from leading finance journals.
