Stéphane Guibaud is Professor of Economics at Sciences Po's Department of Economics since 2014. He holds a PhD in Economics from the Paris School of Economics and was previously an Assistant Professor of Finance at the London School of Economics (2006–2013) and a visiting scholar at Princeton University (2005–2006). His research focuses on international finance, asset pricing, dynamic contracting, and international macroeconomics. His work has been published in top journals such as the American Economic Review, Journal of Finance, and Review of Financial Studies.
Research interests include analyzing capital flows in aging economies, credit constraints' impact on global growth, and the design of optimal government debt structures. Notable contributions address fertility policies' role in social security reforms and the dynamics of international portfolio diversification.
He has co-authored seminal studies on managerial turnover in firms and sovereign bond restructuring dilemmas. His research bridges theoretical models with empirical analysis to address critical issues in global financial systems and macroeconomic policy.
