Peter M. Anderson

Peter M. Anderson is a Professor in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at The Ohio State University (OSU). He holds a ScB from Brown University, ScM and PhD from Harvard University, and a postdoc from Cambridge University. His research focuses on mechanical properties of materials, numerical methods, and shape memory alloys. Notable contributions include co-authoring Theory of Dislocations and developing nanoindentation techniques. Anderson has been Chair of the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at OSU (2015-2019) and served as a Program Manager for NSF’s DMREF initiative (2020-2022).
