Peter Liss

Peter Liss is an Emeritus Professor at the University of East Anglia's School of Environmental Sciences. His research examines biogeochemical interactions between oceans and atmosphere, focusing on air-sea gas exchange of CO2 and trace gases.

Significant contributions include quantifying Southern Ocean CO2 uptake, microplastic-atmosphere interactions, and refining global flux estimates. He chairs critical environmental committees including the Underwater Sound Forum.

Awards include the Challenger Society Medal, Fellowship of the Royal Society, and CBE for services to science. International leadership roles encompass IGBP and SOLAS.
