Peter Landey is an Associate Professor at the Department of Music, Brock University, specializing in music composition, theory, and aesthetics. He is recognized for his critical translations of seminal works in music theory and his contributions to ballet music through commissions from prominent Canadian ensembles.

Education
His research focuses on 19th-century music theory, with a particular emphasis on the works of Reicha and Fétis. He also engages in interdisciplinary studies through the Studies in Arts and Culture program, blending compositional practice with theoretical and cultural analysis.
Professor Landey has received commissions from notable Canadian ensembles such as ArrayMusic, Toronto Dance Theatre, and Niagara Symphony. His ballet Alice Through the Looking-Glass is produced annually in Tokyo, and he contributes to scholarly discourse through critical translations of foundational texts in music theory.
