Peter Kimani is a Kenyan author, journalist, and creative writing instructor. He served as the Blackburn Artist in Residence in Duke University's English Department during Spring 2022, teaching courses on fiction writing. His work focuses on historical narratives from marginalized perspectives, blending journalism with literary fiction. Notable works include Dance of the Jakaranda (a NYT Notable Book) and contributions to Nairobi Noir. He writes a weekly column for The Standard, offering incisive critiques of Kenyan politics and society.
