Peter John Dolton is a Professor of Economics at the University of Sussex (2012–present), with prior roles as Professor of Economics at Royal Holloway, University of London (2005–2011), University of Newcastle upon Tyne (1990–2005), and Lecturer at the University of Hull (1978–1986). He holds a BA (Essex), MA (Warwick), and PhD (Cambridge). His research focuses on micro-econometric applications in labor economics, education economics, health economics, and applied econometrics.
He has held visiting positions at Stanford University, University Paris II, and Australian National University. His advisory roles include membership in the Armed Forces Pay Review Body (2010–present) and the Expert Advisory Group for the General Medical Council (2011–present).
Research Interests: Labour economics, education economics, health economics, and applied econometrics. Current projects include evaluating minimum wages during economic downturns, assessing the recession's impact on pay settlements, and analyzing the geography of the national minimum wage.
