معرفی
Peter Janes is an Adjunct Associate Professor (Research) at Monash University's Department of Biochemistry & Molecular Biology, leading the Protein Interaction and Cancer Lab as Acting Head. His research focuses on cell surface proteins in tumor growth and microenvironment dynamics, particularly Eph receptor tyrosine kinases and ADAM metalloproteases, with applications in antibody-based cancer therapy. His work includes developing antibodies targeting EphA3 and ADAM10, with the former advancing to Phase II clinical trials.
He has led multiple research projects funded by organizations such as the Cancer Council Victoria and the National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC), addressing topics like antibody therapy for mesothelioma and drug-resistant breast cancers. His studies employ biochemical, structural, and in vivo/in vitro tumor models to explore signaling pathways and therapeutic interventions.
Recent publications highlight advancements in Eph receptor clustering mechanisms, tumor suppression via EphA3 inhibition, and ADAM10-targeted drug conjugates. Janes' contributions align with UN Sustainable Development Goals aimed at improving health and reducing disease burden.
