معرفی
Professor Peter Hoffmann is a Research Professor and Lloyd Sansom Chair in Biomaterials Engineering & Nanomedicine at the University of South Australia (UniSA), affiliated with the Clinical and Health Sciences department. His research focuses on environmental toxicology, analytical chemistry, and biomedical applications, particularly in assessing bioavailability of contaminants like PFAS and herbicides, and developing advanced diagnostic tools using mass spectrometry and biosensors. He holds a prominent role in the Future Industries Institute and Health and Biomedical Innovation at UniSA.
His work integrates environmental science with medical diagnostics, such as investigating PFAS toxicity in soil and developing DGT techniques for pesticide analysis. He has contributed to breakthroughs in MALDI-MSI for cancer research and food safety, as well as SPR-based biosensors for medical applications. He supervises research degrees and has secured grants like NHMRC 1186337. His interdisciplinary approach bridges environmental engineering, biotechnology, and clinical diagnostics.
Key achievements include advancing in vivo bioavailability assessment methods, optimizing DGT for herbicide measurement, and applying mass spectrometry imaging to plant and human tissue analysis. His research teams collaborate across UniSA’s STEM, Future Industries, and Health Sciences units, addressing global challenges in environmental health and precision medicine.
