Peter Hancock is a Provost's Distinguished Research Professor and Pegasus Professor at the University of Central Florida's College of Engineering and Computer Science, Department of Industrial Engineering and Management Systems. He leads research in human factors engineering, simulation, workload analysis, and safety across domains like aviation and healthcare. His work integrates neuroscience, ergonomics, and cognitive science to address challenges in human-technology interaction.
With over 200 publications and 21 authored/co-authored books, Hancock is a globally recognized authority in human factors. His research emphasizes stress management in engineered systems, adaptive automation, and the philosophical dimensions of science and engineering.
He is affiliated with the Institute for Simulation and Training (IST), where he contributes to cutting-edge projects in simulation-based training and human performance analysis. His recent work explores AI ethics, trust in autonomous systems, and the future of simulation technology.
