Peter Hall

Dr. Peter Hall is a Professor and Reader in Graphic Design at the Camberwell, Chelsea and Wimbledon Colleges of Arts, part of the University of the Arts London. His work bridges critical theory and design practice, with a focus on participatory approaches to data visualization and environmental communication.

Research Interests: Hall’s research explores critical visualization and participatory mapping, emphasizing ethical and societal implications of data representation. He co-authored Critical Visualization: Rethinking the Representation of Data (2022) and leads projects addressing climate disinformation (Envirology) and microplastics pollution (Plastic Justice). His work often intersects with environmental advocacy, design pedagogy, and interdisciplinary collaboration.

• Envirology: Climate Truth Crisis (2024–2027) – European Commission funded project empowering designers to combat climate disinformation.
• Plastic Justice (2020–2022) – Erasmus+ project linking design, environmental science, and policy to address microplastics.

Advising & Grants: Hall has supervised six research-based degree projects including studies on circular consumer behavior, environmental data sensing with AR, and cybersecurity in intimate partner abuse cases. His grants emphasize cross-disciplinary collaboration between designers, scientists, and policymakers.
