Peter Demian

Professor Peter Demian is a Professor of Digital Construction Engineering at Loughborough University, leading the Construction Management Group from 2019 to 2022. His research focuses on information management in design, construction, and the built environment, with expertise in Building Information Modeling (BIM), smart cities, and occupational safety and health (OSH). He teaches Design Management at the MSc level and leads Loughborough’s renowned Construction MSc programs.

Education: Holds BA/MA, MEng, MSc, PhD degrees, and professional qualifications including M.ASCE, M.CIOB, FHEA, CEng, and MICE.

• Human-Data Interaction (HDI) frameworks
• BIM integration with IoT, blockchain, and immersive technologies (VR/AR)
• Sustainable building design and smart city development
• OSH enhancement through digital tools
