Peter Cowan

Professor Peter Cowan serves as Professor of Oral Surgery and Dental Anatomy at the School of Dentistry, Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI), where he also leads Enquiry Based Learning (EBL) and co-leads Integrated Dental Sciences (IDS) programmes. Appointed to his current professorship in 2024, he maintains over 40 years of clinical practice in Dublin specializing in minor Oral Surgery and Fixed Prosthodontics, and is recognized as Ireland's second dental implant pioneer following training with Prof. Per-Ingvar Branemark in 1986.
