Peter C Hanley

Peter C Hanley is a part-time Senior Lecturer in the Physiotherapy Department at Sheffield Hallam University, combining academic roles with an Extended Scope Practitioner position at South West Yorkshire Partnership Trust. He has been involved with Sheffield Tigers RUFC's medical team since 2000, merging his expertise in sports medicine with clinical practice.

Educated at Sheffield Hallam University (BSc 1993), he completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education in 2008. His teaching spans undergraduate and postgraduate programs in Physiotherapy, Occupational Physiotherapy, Sport and Exercise Science, and Sports Technology, with international experience in Egypt and Kuwait.

Research interests focus on manual therapy, musculoskeletal and sports rehabilitation, and pedagogical methods in healthcare education. His work includes biomechanical studies on movement patterns in runners with patellofemoral pain.

Teaching responsibilities have included module leadership across multidisciplinary programs, emphasizing practical clinical skills and evidence-based practice.
