Peter Boyle

Professor Peter Boyle (1947–2022) was a leading figure in global public health, epidemiology, and cancer research. He held prominent academic roles including Professor of Global Public Health at the University of Strathclyde (UK), Executive Director of the Strathclyde Institute for Global Public Health (Glasgow and Lyon), and President of the International Prevention Research Institute (Lyon). His career spanned over four decades, with leadership roles at institutions such as the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) and the European Institute of Oncology (Milan).
