Dr. Cheryl Peters is a Senior Scientist in Cancer Prevention at the British Columbia Centre for Disease Control (BCCDC) and BC Cancer. She holds adjunct professor appointments at the School of Population & Public Health, University of British Columbia, and in Oncology & Community Health Sciences, University of Calgary.

- MSc in Occupational & Environmental Hygiene (University of British Columbia)
- PhD in Epidemiology (University of British Columbia)
- CIHR Postdoctoral Fellowship in Men’s Occupational Health (Carleton University)
Her research focuses on occupational and environmental cancer prevention, with expertise in occupational hygiene and epidemiology. Key areas include exposure assessment, sex/gender differences in occupational risks, and addressing health misinformation through knowledge translation. She leads the CAREX Canada program and contributes to the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) Monographs Program.
Recent publications highlight her work on UV radiation and cancer, asbestos exposure, heat-related illnesses, and chemical risk assessment. She co-chairs the Sun Safety at Work Canada Working Group and serves on the Canadian Association for Research on Work and Health board.
