Peter Bath

Professor Peter Bath is a Professor of Health Informatics at the University of Sheffield's School of Information, Journalism and Communication. He holds a BSc from the University of Wales, an MSc and PhD from the University of Sheffield. His career includes roles as Head of the Health Informatics Research Group (2000–2013), Head of School (2016–2019), and Chair of the University Research Ethics Committee. His research focuses on health informatics, including e-Health resource utilization, patient information behaviors, and AI-driven health data analysis, with a particular emphasis on older populations. He coordinates the ISHIMR conference series and has led projects on open access publishing, telemedicine triage accuracy, and chronic disease management.
