Peter Andrée is Professor of Political Science at Carleton University with cross-appointments in Geography and Environmental Studies and the Institute of Political Economy. He holds degrees from Trent University (BSc/BA, MA) and York University (PhD). As Director of Carleton's Centre for Community Innovation (3ci), he links community-engaged research with policy development.
Research focuses on:
- Political ecology of food systems
- Indigenous environmental co-governance
- Civil society participation in policy
- Decolonizing sustainability transitions
Current projects include 'Living Relations' (co-director) examining decolonizing food initiatives in Aotearoa (New Zealand) and Canada. Publications analyze food sovereignty movements, community-based research methods, and settler-Indigenous engagement in governance.
Andrée co-hosts the ecopolitics podcast exploring environmental politics globally.
