Peter A. Edwards

Peter A. Edwards is a Distinguished Research Professor at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), holding dual appointments in the Department of Biological Chemistry and the Department of Medicine within the David Geffen School of Medicine. His research focuses on lipid metabolism, bile acid biology, and the molecular mechanisms underlying metabolic and cardiovascular diseases. Edwards has made significant contributions to understanding nuclear receptor signaling, particularly FXR and LXR pathways, and their roles in regulating cholesterol, bile acid, and lipid homeostasis.
