Pernille Bonnevie Hansen

Pernille Bonnevie Hansen is an Associate Professor of Norwegian at the University of Inland Norway, affiliated with the Department of Nordic Languages and Literature under the Faculty of Teacher Education and Pedagogy. She is based at the Hamar campus in Room 2C275. Her roles include heading the Norwegian Association for Cognitive Linguistics and participating in research groups such as Language and Society and SAMBA (Cooperation and Relationship between Kindergarten and School).

Her research focuses on language acquisition, mental lexicon dynamics, clinical linguistics, and language processing in multilingual contexts. Notable projects include the EU-funded Language impairment in a multilingual society and the GRIEG-funded Polish and Norwegian language and world knowledge development in mono- and multilingual children. She also leads the INN-les project on collaborative reading strategies in multilingual schools.

Teaching interests span phonetics, semantics, psycholinguistics, and second language didactics at undergraduate and graduate levels. She supervises students across bachelor's, master's, and doctoral programs. Recent publications explore bilingual language milestones, multilingual dementia challenges, and cognate effects in lexical tasks.

Professional contributions include postdoctoral fellowships at MultiLing (University of Oslo) and collaborative work with international researchers. Her work addresses practical applications in education and clinical settings through interdisciplinary methodologies.
