Therese Garshol Syversen

Therese Garshol Syversen is an Associate Professor in Nordic Studies at the University of Inland Norway, affiliated with the Faculty of Teacher Education and Pedagogy and the Department of Nordic Languages and Literature. She specializes in children's literature and literature didactics, focusing on early childhood education and multilingual contexts. She holds a Ph.D. in professional teacher education (2023), a Master's in educational leadership (2019), and a Master's in Nordic literature (2015).

Research Interests: Her work explores the dissemination of literature in kindergartens, teacher identity formation, and curriculum frameworks. She is a co-author of a textbook on literature in early education and a fiction author with works like Sting (2022), which won the Trollkritt Debut Prize. She contributes to research groups such as Nordic Literature (NORLITT) and Language Teaching and Learning in Multilingual Contexts.

Publications: Recent articles focus on kindergarten teacher students' professional identity, youth poetry assessments, and children's literature frameworks. Her work bridges literary theory, pedagogical practice, and multilingual education.
