Dr Perla Innocenti is a Senior Lecturer in Information Science at the University of Strathclyde's Department of Computer and Information Sciences, affiliated with the Strathclyde iSchool Research Group and Digital Health and Wellness Research Group. She chairs the CIS Athena Swan and GEDI teams, promoting gender equality and inclusion. Her research focuses on cultural heritage informatics, digital preservation, and migration studies. She holds a PhD from the University of Glasgow and is a Fellow of the HEA.
- Education: PhD (2013) in Culture and Creative Arts (Glasgow), Master in Cultural Heritage Management (Scuola Normale Superiore, Pisa), and a four-year degree in Art History (La Sapienza, Rome).
Research Interests: Investigates preservation of tangible/intangible heritage, digital curation, migration's social impacts, and ethics in information systems. Her recent projects include EU-funded initiatives like PERCEPTIONS (€1.5M+ secured) and MeLa, exploring innovative museum practices.
Key Projects: Led projects on food heritage of migrants (Arts Council England), digital preservation frameworks (EU's DL.org), and migration narratives (H2020 PERCEPTIONS). Current work examines pilgrimage routes' information practices and ethics risks in tech systems.

Labs/Teams: Active in interdisciplinary groups addressing digital heritage, health, and inclusion. Supervises PhDs on pilgrimage studies, ethics audits, and preservation in national libraries.
