Dr. Cassandra Kist is a Strathclyde Chancellor's Fellow in Computer & Information Sciences at the University of Strathclyde, affiliated with the iSchool research group. Her research focuses on the intersection of digital platforms and cultural heritage, addressing social inclusion/exclusion dynamics. She holds a PhD in Information Studies from the University of Glasgow (2022) and has prior experience in cultural heritage institutions like the Royal Ontario Museum and National Museums Scotland. Her work emphasizes collaborative methods and has been funded by EU Horizon 2020 and internal university grants. She leads the Museum Social Media Cultures Research Network and has published in journals like Museum Management and Curatorship.
Education: PhD (2022, University of Glasgow), MA in Museum Studies (2018, University of Toronto), BA in Anthropology (2016, University of Alberta).
Research Interests: Digital cultural heritage, AI ethics in museums, social media as 'contact zones', participatory memory practices, and digital infrastructures. She employs creative ethnography and future-oriented methodologies.
