Per Strömberg is the SSE Centennial Professor of Finance and Private Equity at the Stockholm School of Economics (SSE), holding the Ragnar and Torsten Söderberg Professorship in Economics (2014–2018). He is also an Adjunct Professor at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. His academic journey includes a Ph.D. in Financial Economics from Carnegie Mellon University and an MBA from SSE.
Research Focus: Strömberg’s work centers on bankruptcy law, private equity finance, and environmental policy impacts. Notable areas include carbon pricing effects on firm emissions, private equity’s role in corporate restructuring, and venture capital contractual dynamics. His research has been published in top journals like the Journal of Finance and Review of Financial Studies.
