Peng Yin is an Assistant Professor of Ethics at Boston University’s School of Theology (STH). He holds affiliations as Core Faculty in the Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies Program and Affiliated Faculty in the Department of Classical Studies and Center for the Study of Asia. His research bridges comparative ethics, Chinese theology, and religion/sexuality studies, supported by grants from the Louisville Institute, Political Theology Network, Ricci Institute, and Yale’s Fund for Gay and Lesbian Studies.
Education includes a PhD from Harvard University, MAR from Yale Divinity School, and BS from Hong Kong Baptist University. A recipient of Harvard’s Derek Bok Teaching Award, Yin teaches courses such as ‘Comparative Religious Ethics,’ ‘Queer Theology,’ and ‘Gender & Sexuality: An Interdisciplinary Introduction.’
His current book project, *Persisting in the Good*, examines moral language across religious traditions through the lens of Thomas Aquinas and early Chinese ethics. Recent scholarly engagements include the 2023 McDonald Agape Lecture at the University of Hong Kong and Bartlett Lecture at Yale Divinity School.
