Peng Yew Wong is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Property, Construction and Project Management at RMIT University, Australia. He holds expertise in Housing Economics, Investment, and Applied Economics with a focus on property market dynamics and cross-border investments. Prior to academia, he held senior corporate roles in the USA and Asia, specializing in mergers & acquisitions and property investments, particularly in multi-family property sectors. His research explores determinants of overseas investments post-2008 GFC and their impact on Australian residential markets.
Industry Experience: Board member of three public listed Asian companies, leading M&A exercises and corporate restructuring, including a multipurpose commercial complex revitalization project. He advises international investors on strategic capital planning.
Teaching: Teaches Property Investment Planning, Property Economics, and Research Methods at RMIT. Engages in postgraduate and undergraduate education.
Research Interests: Housing policy, investment strategies, applied economics, and sustainable development goals (SDGs 11, 10, 13). His work addresses housing affordability, quantitative easing impacts, and cross-border real estate investments.
Grants & Projects: Focuses on post-GFC housing trends and cross-border capital flows. Recent studies include black swan events, pandemic impacts, and commercial property market performance in Australia.
