Peng Wu, PhD, is a Professor in the Department of Molecular and Cellular Biology at Scripps Research. His research integrates synthetic chemistry and glycobiology to understand immune responses in cancer and infectious diseases, focusing on T-cell dynamics and glycan engineering. He holds a PhD from The Scripps Research Institute (2005), and his work has been recognized with awards such as the NIH Pathway to Independence Award (2007) and the Horizon Prize (2021).
Education includes a B.S. in Chemistry from Peking University (1999) and an M.S. from Indiana University (2001). Professional experience spans roles at Albert Einstein College of Medicine and affiliations with Scripps Research’s Chemistry department. His lab develops chemical tools to probe cell-cell interactions, including Siglec ligand engineering and polysulfate materials.
Awards highlight contributions to glycobiology and synthetic chemistry. Research encompasses glycan arrays, CAR-T cell therapy, and drug discovery, with emphasis on translational applications in immunotherapy and cancer treatment.
