Pekka Nuorti is a Professor of Epidemiology and Director of the Global Public Health Research and Education Center at the University of Tampere, Finland. He leads the International Doctoral Programme in Epidemiology and Public Health (IPPE) and holds an academic position within the Faculty of Social Sciences, Department of Epidemiology. His research focuses on vaccine effectiveness, infectious disease surveillance, and global health challenges, particularly in low-resource settings. Nuorti has contributed extensively to studies on pneumococcal vaccines, SARS-CoV-2 transmission dynamics, and public health policy.
