She holds an MD from Stanford University (2016) and an MSc in Epidemiology of Infectious Diseases from the Yale School of Public Health (2022). Her research focuses on understanding infectious disease transmission dynamics, evaluating vaccine effectiveness, and addressing global health challenges through epidemiological methodologies.
Education:
- MSc in Public Health - Epidemiology of Infectious Diseases, Yale School of Public Health (2022)
- MD, Stanford University School of Medicine (2016)
- ScB in Biology, Brown University (2011)
Dr. Pischel's work spans multiple critical areas including:
- COVID-19 and influenza transmission patterns among healthcare workers
- Real-world vaccine efficacy analysis using large epidemiological datasets
- Emerging infectious disease surveillance in global settings
- Impact of environmental factors on infectious disease spread (e.g., rainfall and leptospirosis)
Key Contributions:
Recent studies include groundbreaking work on healthcare worker contact patterns in post-pandemic settings and systematic reviews evaluating mpox vaccine efficacy. She also pioneered mixed-methods approaches to study social mixing in resource-limited countries.
Awards:
- 2024 Janeway Society Member (Yale School of Medicine)
- 2020 Infectious Disease Fellowship Support Award
Collaborations:
Works closely with global health researchers including Drs. Saad Omer, Inci Yildirim, and Albert Ko. Active member of transdisciplinary teams studying antimicrobial resistance and climate change impacts on disease.
Labs/Teams:
Affiliated with the Yale Institute for Global Health and collaborates with the Emerging Pathogens Research Group at the Yale School of Public Health.
