Pei-San Tsai is a Professor in the Department of Integrative Physiology at the University of Colorado Boulder. She directs research in reproductive endocrinology examining neuroendocrine development, hormone evolution, and steroid regulation in vertebrates and invertebrates.
Her laboratory investigates the development of neuroendocrine neurons critical for reproduction, functional evolution of reproductive neurohormones, and mechanisms of sex steroid regulation in hypothalamic-pituitary-gonadal systems. Research spans diverse models from mice to gastropods and crustaceans.
Recent publications focus on hormone receptor authentication in gastropods, genetic regulation of GnRH neurons, and hormonal control of vitellogenesis in shrimp.
Honors include the Endocrine Society Research Award, NSF CAREER Award, and Provost's Faculty Achievement Award.
